Review & Demo: Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Now this brush has had a major amount of buzzing around it for a while in the blogging world and I finally cracked and bought it the other week. Damn my none existent self control!! Basically this brush is meant to be amazing to apply creamy products to your face and gives a “pixel perfect finish”.

I will be honest and say I wasn’t overjoyed by this brush at first, it looked nice and ticked all my boxes in terms of aesthetics but when it came to the crunch I just wasn’t that bothered! It applied my BB cream okay but it wasn’t fabulous and I could give or take it really. I preferred the finish my fingers gave and left it be on my make up shelf where I picked it up occasionally but not everyday.

I have had this a number of weeks so it’s had a few washes now which seems to have really improved the brush! It’s a lot fluffier and a whole lot nicer to use which sounds a bit mad but it’s true. I’m not really sure what happened but I really love using this brush now and it gives a lovely, even but natural finish to my face when using my Skin79 BB Cream. I wasn’t really expecting it to apply well using this brush but it really seems to be working wonderfully now!

With the BB Cream especially, because the formula is considerably wetter with a moisturiser type texture when in comparison to regular foundation which is generally thicker you need to be quite light handed with the brush to avoid the product just getting pushed down into the fibres and wasted.

I start but applying a small  amount of product to the back of my hand and lightly tap the brush into it and starting from the centre of my face (usually the side of my nose) and work outwards in circular motions slowly adding more product when needed until I get my desired coverage and voila!

Gee x

I usethe stippling brush for my tinted moisturiser/foundation and I find it gives a lovely, smooth look. However, I do agree it took a couple of washes to get the brush nice and fluffy 🙂 x
