Review: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

After using BB Cream for a good few months now I didn’t think I’d really ever be converted back to a foundation but I have seen so many great reviews of the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation I just had to try it! I am Mummy to a 2 year old who has never slept through the night so needless to say I pretty much always look knackered so when I saw this foundation had an anti-fatigue effect I was sold.

I have read about 101 reviews on this where 90% of people say there is hardly any shimmer/the shimmer doesn’t transfer blah blah blah…Lies! As you can tell from the photographs above the bottle and my fingers (that I used to apply the foundation) are flipping covered but the shimmer is very small and evenly dispersed but it is definitely detectable on your face if you look closely in a mirror. It probably wouldn’t be noticeable from a normal distance or to your boyfriend. Although you could probably shake a pot of glitter on your face and most men wouldn’t notice. It doesn’t have a ton of shimmer but if you look in the mirror in a well lit room or outside then you will be able to see it.

The coverage it good, I’d say medium to full coverage which is definitely buildable. I have pretty good skin at the moment but if I get blemishes they scar immediately and this foundation covered those marks pretty well. It’s quite a pain to blend for me but that is more than likely because I’m used to a BB Cream which I can just slap on and not pay much attention to so if your used to foundation then this will be fine.

It is scented, it has a light, fresh kind of cucumber scent which is nice and doesn’t stay long which is even nicer but it’s worth noting if your skin isn’t keen on scented products.

As far as the claims for the “Anti Fatigue Effect! and the “Radiant Glow” I will have to agree, I do look noticeable more awake and my skin definitely looks nice and glowy so thumbs up from me! Thanks Rimmel!

I bought this recently too and haven't stopped using it since but I hate the annoying shimmery fingers it leaves me with. I use a brush to apply it but when I touch my face throughout the day I find I am in shimmer central when I next take a look at my hands. (: xx

2 year olds have a habit of making us look knackered (i have 3 kids keeping me tired so can relate). It was a good review hun, i have not worn foundation since i was teenager. I would like to find a face cream that doesn't make my face so shiny though, so if you come across any let me know 🙂 due to my complexion i find it hard to wear foundation, if my skin was lighter i would definitely try out this foundation 🙂

Argh! I wish Rimmel didn't cost an arm and a leg over here! This foundation looks fantastic. I use the Long Lasting one and adore it, but this one seems just perfect ^^ Thanks for sharing xx

I so wanted to try this and almost bought it: When i swatched it on my hand, i liked how it looked but as i was browsing around in the store and looked at my hand it was covered with glitter! So luckily i didnt buy it! I wonder how people wear this glitter bomb on their faces really!
