Review: NARS Blush in Orgasm – A Blush For Everyone?

This NARS blush seems to be one of the top cheek products everyone seems to rave about claiming it to be the ultimate universal blush and I remember being really excited when I finally took the plunge and purchased it mid last year! The packaging is lovely as with all NARS products, well designed minus the dirt grabbing finish (which I can live with as it feels super soft and looks gorgeous), the pan is well attached etc etc but I must admit I wasn’t as wowed by this product as I had hoped…at first anyway.

The blush itself is a lovely peachy pink with lovely golden tones which perhaps were a bit too glitter like for me in certain lights as I’m pretty fair which tends to make getting the right blush a bit of a nightmare. This being said makes the universal claim that seems to have been made over the blogsphere a little bit of a porkie but nevertheless I have really grown to like it.

I don’t really know what I was expecting when I first tried it as the pigmentation didn’t seem to show up on my skin until I’d either given a good 2 coats or drowned my brush in it but lesson learnt, less is more. For some reason, the lighting in my room seems to make this bush look near invisible until I get into natural lighting which isn’t the greatest thing to say the least. Just me? …Probably.

This is a perfect blush for flushed summer look for me, in the winter it’s just a little too golden for my ghostly skin tone but I keep reaching for this and it’s definitely working it’s way into my make up routine nonetheless!

  2. I'm not to keen on Orgasm although it's lovely. I'm too pale I suppose. However I bought Deep throat and it's way better! 🙂

Good post and good pictures to help people try and decide for themselves if they can't get to a makeup counter.

Lovely colour but not for me. I'm selling my entire collection of NARS orgasm products.

I've always been tempted by how pretty it looks but never quite enough to get it. I also tried Laguna and wasn't impressed with it but it seems I'm in the minority! Glad to see you back too, love your posts! X

I nearly bought this the other day!
But I went for Torrid instead which I have just done a blog post on if you're interested in finding a more suitable blush for paler skins 🙂
I have always wanted to try Orgasm just because of the hype but I can imagine it doesn't look amazing on skin as pale as mine!

It's pretty in the pan, but too shimmery for my taste.

I just posted a review on this and Deep Throat. If you're not a huge fan of the golden shimmer then Deep Throat might be more suited to you. They are very similar colours.

    Lovely photos 🙂
I really like your blog, you've gained a new follower!

  11. I prefer Deep Throat. Too much of a gold shimmery sheen, but for an evening event I bet this looks great!

Lovely review, a similar product is 'Sleek Rose Gold Blush' which I think looks much more pigmented, just my opinion though and it is also much cheaper. Maybe have a look at that one 🙂

  13. Great review. I love Nars but I feel that this blusher is so over-rated. I didn't like the consistency and the glitter was not flattering on my skin. There seems to be so much talk of this being a universal blusher for everyone but I can certainly live without it 🙂
