I thought I would round off 2017 with a bunch of beauty favourites as I plan to well and truly bring back the beauty posts in 2018, so there is no time like the present, right? Here we have a little collection of my favourite products of 2017, some are some oldies I’ve rediscovered whilst others are newbies to my ever flowing make up drawer (which desperately needs sorting through!).
NARS Orgasm blush is one I discovered quite a few years ago and didn’t really love it that much at all, I found it too golden for my pale as hell skin but since switching foundations to those with a warmer undertone I find it looks lovely. The shimmer in it catches the light and acts as a highlight as well if you want a more natural, blushed look.
Lush Sleepy is a new favourite, I originally bought it for Lily but she has since needed a slightly more hardcore prescribed moisturiser so I have been stealing this! I absolutely love this scent, it’s the same as Twilight which is a beautiful vanillary, lavender scent which is one probably one of my favourite scents of all time from Lush. I love the beautiful lilac colour too!
Chanel Rouge Coco in Rose Dentelle is an old favourite that I have rediscovered this year. it’s is the perfect “my lip colour but better” shade. The formula is lovey and creamy without being drying although the finish is more on the matte side which is quite odd for a hydrating lipstick. The packaging is my favourite, it’s got that lovely, quality, weight to it and the sleek design looks oh so glamorous.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze is my absolute favourite eyeshadow shade for this year, I had wanted it for the longest time (since they were first released, so a really long time) and I just bit the bullet and bought it. It’s the most beautiful coppery shade with the best pigment I have ever seen and it lasts all day without shifting for me! Top marks!
Last but not least for my 2017 beauty picks, we have the NYX Warm Neutrals Palette which is my new favourite! I normally stick to the Urban Decay Naked Palette but I felt like branching out a bit (but not too far, because the shades are very similar to the Heat Palette). I love the shimmery shades in this, I find them a lot more pigmented than the matte ones but for a cheap palette it’s bloody good! Definitely worth a look if you’re wanting a cheaper alternative to the Urban Decay Heat Palette.
So Susan Mesmer-Eyes Liquid Eyeliner is another newbie, I got this in my Pink Parcel box and I fell in love! This liquid liner is a game changer, the formula is fantastic and waterproof so it doesn’t budge, like at all. Texture once it has dried is like vinyl! I literally had to peel it off my hand when I swatched it, it’s brilliant!
