MONTHLY FAVOURITES // MARCH 2018

March seems to have flown by and I can’t quite believe it’s that time again for monthly favourites! I feel like since having kids the years go quicker than your first boyfriend on prom night.

I have quite a diverse list of favourites which makes a change but anyway, enough rambling, more favouriting –

Yankee Candle Wax Tarts

This isn’t a new favourite but I have recently got back into burning wax tarts after rather a long break because I honestly just forgot about them, haha. It wasn’t until I had watched Kate Murnane’s video on How to Make Your House Smell Amazing that I remembered their existence and how much I love them. They scent the room even when they’re not burning and whenever I walk past the burner I get a waft of loveliness. My two favourites at the moment are Warm Cashmere and Spiced White Cocoa. You can buy them for a quid on eBay so they’re super affordable too!

Olverum Bath Oil*

This my new favourite thing for relaxing baths. I have never tried a liquid bath oil before (I know, shocking right? I’ve been missing out), although I have tried Razzle Dazzle, Ceridwen’s Cauldron and Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment from Lush which are solid bath oils but never have I tried one like this before but my GOD I love it! It’s a perfect blend of essential oils which smells wonderfully relaxing (lots of lavender which I adore!) and I have enjoyed using this so much!

Crystal Ear Tapers/Plugs

I have been really loving these crystal plugs and tapers! I do love me some crystals, my bedroom growing up was littered with rose quartz, fools gold, lapis lazuli, amethyst, etc. They are so much prettier than the plain black or silver ones I normally wear although I have had to revert back to my boring ones because I ended up giving myself an infection because I’m a twat. I have stretched my ear loads of times before and never had a problem and always salt watered it after, blah blah blah but I basically changed to a crappy coated taper to move up quicker because it’s all I had in a bigger size and basically I regret the fuck out of that decision and my ear lobe hated me.

I went to the doctors and got some antibiotic/steroid cream though (Fucidin, amazing shit) because it was beginning to look gross and I didn’t want to end up with a butt hole ear. I’ve finished the course now and my ear is fine again but yeh, don’t ignore the after care because your ear will get infected. Wash it with salt water, or saline (not just regular water, unless you want an ear full of pus and a trip to the doctors) for at least 6 weeks and don’t take it out or fuck about with it. Same as a piercing. That’s common sense though, something I have but still chose to ignore so yeh, I’m a twat.

Sudocrem*

I have always loved Sudocrem ever since Eloise was tiny. I always stick a bit on any spots and they’re gone by morning. It’s also great for sore noses so I will be stocking up for the hay fever season for sure! I was sent the little tube which is so much handier than the giant pot I have for Lily and I love it.

Pom Pom Sweatshirt

How bloody gorgeous is this little jumper! I got it from H&M for Lily in a size 12-18 months which is a tiny bit big for her at the moment but I really wanted to get the next size just just so it fitted for longer but they were all out of stock already. I adore the colours of this and the pom poms are so cute. I love ugly jumpers so much.

Sleek Highlighting Palette in Solstice*

This is my new go to highlight. I love the pink shade of this quad! I find it quite hard to find a highlighter that doesn’t look too gold on my deathly pale skin and this shade is perfect for those with super light skin tones!

Marble Phone Case

I recently upgraded my phone so naturally I needed new phone cases so I panic bought this one just after ordering my upgrade. This beauty was literally about £4 off eBay and came in the post super quickly. I love a good eBay find, I pretty much always buy my phone cases off there and I can’t fault them! You can buy one like this here.

Telly Favourites…

I have quite a few TV favourites this month so I’m going to just focus on my top 2 which are strangely both zombie related.

/ Me and Ben have just finished watching the new season of Santa Clarita Diet. We loved the first season and we basically binge watched the second over a few nights. It’s a zombie series featuring Drew Barrymore but more comedy than your regular zombie series and no apocalypse scenario. It’s about being a zombie in society and it’s bloody hilarious. I love Joel and Shiela so much!

/ My second fave is another zombie one but this time it’s Derren Borwn’s The Apocalypse. In this they trick some poor bastard into thinking the world has ended and zombies are everywhere. It’s fascinating and terrifying all at the same time. Definitely worth a watch!

What are your favourites this month? Inspire me! Be enablers! Haha!

I LOVE the Sleek palette in Soltice, it’s one of my all time favourites especially for high street. I’ve hit pan on mine again, I swear I just want the bottom left shade on it’s own, it’s beautifullllll. I love using Sudocrem on my spots and on my nose for hayfever, and sometimes all over my face as a face mask. It’s such a good multi purpose product. Loving your faves!

I have the little tube sudocrems. I use the big tubs at home on Theodore, and hated that I couldn’t take it out with me. When I found the little tubes that fit in the changing bag I was so glad!
    Much love, Caitylis x x
