Just when I thought it couldn’t get prettier than last month’s box they go and do this. Isn’t this Cath Kidston collaboration just the most beautiful box you’ve ever seen? I think a large part of the reason I chose to sign up to Birchbox was for the unique and stunning boxes every month. They slay the box game.
To celebrate their 25th birthday, Cath Kidston teamed up with Birchbox and made a beauty box baby. When I first saw that Birchbox had revealed this months Cath Kidston edition it was Aprils fools day and I must admit I thought it was a hoax. I love CK so much and just thought it was too good to be true but sill sort of hoped they wouldn’t trick us like that and low and behold they delivered and it is oh so beautiful! I have a little collection of Cath Kidston bits, mainly crockery, stationary and a little patchwork blanket I made for Eloise when she was tiny and I am just so in love with this box.
So, what’s in April’s Birchbox?
Each box contains a Cath Kidston Hand Cream which smells like floral baby powder to me and it is just heavenly. I’ve had CK hand creams before and loved them but this is definitely my favourite scent and the size is perfect for popping in my handbag! The design is beautiful, as always with Cath Kidston products.
Percy & Reed Reassuringly Firm Session Hold Hairspray
I rarely bother with hairspray because nothing ever hold my hair well without making it crunchy but the reviews for this are pretty good so we shall see. The scent isn’t strong like some hairspray which I like because I’m really not a fan of highly perfumed ones because they normally smell so chemicaly. I love the clean, black and white packaging too, the little illustration is so pretty.
Marcelle BB Cream Golden Glow Illuminator
I love anything that is intended to make your skin look effortlessly glowy so when I opened the box I gravitated straight towards this. It’s a BB cream that hydrates and calms the skin, evens tone, controls shine, lightly masks imperfections with it’s light reflecting pigments. It’s hypoallergenic too so that’s good news to us who have sensitive skin. The shade does seem quite dark so I’m not sure I would be able to wear it on it’s own but I’m hoping it will work well under foundation to give me a nice fresh faced look.
ModelCo Baked Blush – Moonshine
I love the name of this shade so much, I love the shade of this shade too. How many times can I say shade in one sentence…Shade.
It’s has this beautiful muted, golden tone which looks bloody stunning, I love this colour so much and I can see it becoming my new go to! My only whinge about this one is the packaging, it’s in such a tiny compact it’s so bloody difficult to open. I have nearly killed several nails trying to get into this already. The colour and actual product though – perfection.
Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel – Blonde
I do love a brow product, I have a scar through my right eyebrow where I smacked my head on a hoover when I was 8 (yep, that happened) so brows are always something I struggle with. I have been using clear brow gel lately and have been loving it! It keeps my brows on fleek all day and has enough hold for me to cover the scar too and I’ve had my eye on Boy Brow from Glossier for a while so when I found this in my box I was intrigued to say the least.
The idea is pretty much the same as Boy Brow; it’s a coloured brow product you brush on. I do love the consistency of this one, it’s very “soft”with less hold than my regular brow gel but I like how it leaves my brows feeling super conditioned thanks to the added aloe vera. The colour I’d say is spot on for me and I have been loving using this as a quick fix after Maybelline Brow Tattoo.
This is only my second box and although I’ve only got last months box to compare it to but I’m going to have to say this is my fave and they’ve got big boots to fill for next months box design.
