Birchbox | June 2018

In honour of Birchbox’s 5th Birthday we were treated to this beautiful keepsake tin instead of your good old box. Birchbox are forever smashing it with their designs, mixing them up every month so you get something truly unique and beautiful every month. We have had  a beautiful boho chic, Cath Kidston, summery leaves and this tin certainly doesn’t get left out at all. This month we have a beautiful delicate, china blue floral which screams tea and everything British to me. I am going to use mine for the good biscuits and cakes I think! It will look amazing in my kitchen cupboard (and even more amazing filled with treats)!

So, what’s in this month’s Birchbox?

Ella Eden Eyeshadow

This month we all got to choose between the shades Faith, which is a lovely rose gold shimmer or Julia, which is a dark brown shade. I chose Faith because I thought this one would make a beautiful brow highlight as well as an easy Summer shade to sweep across the lids and I wasn’t disappointed. I really love this, the pigment is beautifully strong and the shimmer is nice and smooth which glides on amazingly with hardly any fallout!

Benefit POREfessional Pearl Primer

I love the original Benefit POREfessional so I’m excited to try this! This one is basically the good old original formula but with added radiance and anything that achieves a glowy complexion does it 100% for me. I love a nice glowy finish! I do wish liquid Benefit samples were a little bit bigger because this tiny tube is definitely going to get lost within the pits of my make up drawer.

Number 4 Jour d’automne Smoothing Balm

This is your gal if you want something to minimise frizz, restore softness and protect against humidity and heat damage. Can we just talk about how I need this in my life yesterday. My hair has so many fly aways these days, the baby hair regrowth is actually and issue, I look like a damn lion.

Polaar Velvety Sun Fluid

SPF is pretty damn important unless you want skin like a dried up peach by the time you’re 40. This one sinks into your skin without leaving that tell tale white residue all over your face. Most foundations do include SPF but more is more when it comes to protecting your skin against the sun. You know I’m right babes.

Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray

Another hair product this month, I could have done with these for my hair care post really! Can we just talk about how pretty this little bottle is?! Firstly, it smells amazing, secondly, it basically does everything. It protects, nourishes, smooths AND volumises your locks! I mean is there anything this can’t do?

Whittard of Chelsea Tea Bags

These came in the cutest little box, I got good old Earl Grey, Mango & Begamot and Lemon & Ginger. Who doesn’t like a cute little tea bag? No one that’s who.

This was the first month receiving a box where I had actually filled in the questionnaire to personalise my box a bit more it makes sure I was getting things I would want to use and I have to say, I was a bit underwhelmed. I do like the products but I don’t know, I think I was expecting a bit more wow factor or something. All of the products sound great but the only one that really excited me was the POREfessional primer. I do absolutely love the eyeshadow too actually, although the packaging is really plasticky and gross. I say gross, it’s not awful but it does that gross plasticky squeak when you screw the top on and I don’t know, maybe I’m just a packaging snob or something but I hope once I try the other bits my opinion will change but for now I’m feeling a bit “meh” about this months box. I feel for the price as well as the personalisation questionnaire, it could have been better.

What did you think of this months box?
