How To Get That Perfect Summer Glow

It’s Summer, we are midway through a heatwave and the only glow I’m experiencing today is the red-hot fire of sweat under my tits. This shit is not glamorous people, I am melting. But anyway, less about the sheer temperature of this heat that is beaming down on us of late and more about getting that Summer glow and not the bright red glow I’m currently sporting on my arms because apparently, even the shade will burn you to a crisp out there.

How to get the perfect summer glow…

BONDI SANDS EVERYDAY TANNING MILK – This is my favourite tan to date, I’m naturally as pale as a corpse so I don’t get on with anything other than gradual tan because I suck at applying it as I don’t have the time to dedicate to applying it evenly and the streaks are REAL on pale skin. This also doesn’t smell as biscuity as normal tans which makes me love it more. I put it on in the mornings and it develops over the day and by the late afternoon my skin has that sunkissed glow. I do tend to layer this to get a darker tan and I love the colour it gives!

IT COSMETICS ILLUMINATION CC CREAM – I reviewed this not long ago so I won’t harp on about it too much because that review was way over a thousand words so I think I covered everything. The bottom line is that this is by far the best illuminating base product I’ve ever used. Unique to literally everything I’ve tried before, the noticeable shimmer particles are none existent in this. It’s illuminating and everything it says on the tin but there isn’t a load of huge, obvious shimmery glitter chunks in this making it look incredibly natural. Like you’re lit from within like a goddess, because girl, you are totally a freaking goddess.

PIXI BY PETRA GLOW MIST – I’ve never actually dabbled in facial mists outside my trusty Caudalie  Beauty Elixr but this caught my eye back in January when I was making a birthday beauty order on Cult Beauty. I was originally going to but the Glow Tonic but thought this would be really nice for the summer. I love how moisturising it is without the heaviness of a cream which has been very welcome over this heatwave! The pump isn’t great, it’s rather iffy and I feel like the water droplets come out fast too big and it’s more of a spray than a mist so I’ve been having to cover my hair whenever I use this or it ends up drenched.

RIMMEL WAKE ME UP FOUNDATION – This has been a favourtie of mine for a fair few years and has been my go-to whenever I have a tan. I think I need a darker shade actually but other than that it’s a cracking little cheap, everyday foundation. I’ve been wearing this again quite a bit lately because I’m darker at the moment and none of my other foundations match and I’ve fallen in love with it all over again. The shimmer is very obvious up close and gets a bit everywhere but during the summer I’ve found that you can get away with this easily. In the winter, not so much but even with that being said I will repurchase this little beauty over and over again, I love it!

BOBBI BROWN SPARKLE STICK in PROSECCO – I will admit that I didn’t like this much at first, the glitter is quite chunky and my hayfever ridden eyes couldn’t cope and they would stream whenever I put this on but since that’s improved I’ve been loving this! I pop a bit under my bottom lashes which gives my eyes a lovely sparkly glow. It also makes me look slightly more awake than I actually feel which is a bonus too!

MAKE UP REVOLUTION LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER in CHAMPAGNE – I’ve fallen out of love with this for my cheekbones and such, I love the glow but not the way it takes half my base off when blending it. I have, however, been using it to highlight the inner corners of my eyes and I am in love. The precision is amazing because of how concentrated and pigmented this is and the glow stays put for so, so much longer than powder.

GLOSSIER HALOSCOPE – This is my newest favourite make up product! I got it in the shade Quartz which is a pretty universal shade. I bought it as the duo that came with Glossier’s holy grail Boy Brow (which I also love) and it’s my new favourite thing. I’ve never really got on with cream highlighters, I’ve always found them awkward to apply or they’ve ended up taking half my foundation off when I try and blend it. Either that or made me break but this is hypoallergenic with added almond, coconut, and castor oil so it’s my new babe. It doesn’t mess my base up at all and the application is so easy I could kick myself for not buying it earlier. I literally just apply it on my cheek and brow bones along with my cupids bow and pat it in with my fingertips. I just love how naturally dewy it makes my skin! It’s not too heavy and it lasts amazingly well. I don’t see myself going back to powder anytime soon thats for sure!

For 10% off your first Glossier order,  you can use my discount code if you fancy. I get £10 credit if you use my link just to make sure I’m being super transparent. I’m not one for misleading people with links so basically, I get stuff and so do you. I will also love you forever.

So those are the products that are giving me that summer glow lately!
