Birchbox | October 2018

I know, I know, it’s been about 50 years since I last did a Birchbox blog post, soz. This months box is all about embracing autumnal nostalgia although I feel like it’s lacking pumpkin spice but ya know, can’t have it all. I know I also always lust over the box designs but the month the box isn’t doing much for me. I would have liked a nice spooky Halloween theme design or something, maybe some cats. Cats are always a great addition.

BeautyPro Thermotherapy warming gold foil mask

I’m so intrigued by this, I’ve tried sheet masks before but never a foil one. It sounds fancy. It’s infused with hyaluronic acid and Q10. I have no idea what the latter is but it says it’s regenerating which I’m 100% game for and quite frankly, I think I need 50 to regenerate my entire body. It’s self-warming too which is perfect for these chilly nights!

Winky Lux Strobing Balm in Radiant Pink

I thought this was an eyeshadow at first because of how pigmented it was but oh my gosh I love it. The consistency is so smooth and almost gel-like and it applies like no other highlighter ever applied befooore (if you don’t read that with the old Club chocolate bar advert in your head then don’t tell me because I’m probably older than you).

Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask

I do love a hair mask, especially for Eloise’s hair which isn’t far off giving Rapunzel a run for her money. This mask is applied after shampooing which is strange because I’ve only ever found hair masks that are applied before shampooing, even deep conditioners leave my hair limp if I don’t shampoo after so this will probably go straight to Eloise, if I can get her to stay still for 5-10 minutes as it gets to work.

Daily Concepts Charcoal Soap Sponge

This smells weird but looks interesting. It says it’s a soap and a sponge with a detoxifying charcoal soap and an exfoliating sponge and although I’m not sure on the scent, I’m excited to give it a go! I’m slightly concerned about the colour and how my sparkling clean bathroom is going to end up after using it because it looks messy af.

Parlor by Jeff Chastain touchable curl cream

Now my hair isn’t straight but it’s not curly either so I’m not sure what to do with this curl cream. I mean, it sounds great and claims to help maintain and create soft, natural looking curls but I’m not sure how great it’ll be on my hair.

Joop! Wow!

So many exclamation marks mean it’s got to be good right? I normally love a good rose scent which this one claims to have in the form of “a dozen long stem red roses” but on the first sniff, I wasn’t a fan. Maybe it’ll grow on me but it kind of reminds me of those cheap perfumes in Boots that we all used to drown ourselves in back in highschool.

What did you get in this months box?
