We have finally hit our first year anniversary of moving here which means we can FINALLY paint! If you’ve ever lived in a new build you’ll know they don’t like you to paint for the first year whilst the house settles and my goodness was it a long year. All our walls are that gross off-white colour and a house just doesn’t feel as homely does it without a touch of colour dotted about the place so I cannot tell you how pleased I am to finally be able to give the place a lick of paint. So much so that as soon as we got the okay to paint I had already finished the upstairs bathroom by dinner time, haha.
Our house is covered in paint sample cards, booklets and my Pinterest is 99% colour schemes at the moment and I am so excited! We have a rough idea of what we are wanting to do with most of the rooms (more blog posts to follow ;)) and we have a few colours chosen already but today I thought I’d show you a little glimpse into the bathroom makeover so far!
Upstairs Bathroom Makeover
Before it was that gross off-white/magnolia colour which is so gross and I think most people hate this colour. I love an off-white but not a magnolia/off-white combo. Sorry magnolia lovers it just doesn’t do anything for me.
I chose a blush pink for the bathroom, I have had this paint since the Summer, I actually used it to paint Eloise’s chest of drawers and fell in love with it then. Ben wasn’t so keen on the idea to start with but turns out he loves it too! I love how the pink and the greens of the shower curtain complement each other so well, all that’s left in here now is the floor and some nice art work.
While the colour is one the walls and the most drastic change has been done and dusted, the finishing touches are still left on our to-do list.
You may remember my post a little earlier in the year featuring some lovely prints I got from Posterlounge
I am still in love with the prints I chose! They attach so well to the walls with no screws at all and they have remained well and truly stuck all this time! I am so impressed! Anyway, after painting our bathroom I have been left with a Posterlounge hole that needs to be filled with some new prints to finish the room off! I have placed an order for some new wall art and I can’t wait to show you!
To fill your Posterlounge shaped hole they have given my lovely readers a 15% off code so if you would like to save some pennies across their whole range use my code GEEGARDNERPL15 when you checkout.
I am also running a giveaway over on Instagram for a whopping £100 voucher for you to spend this Christmas! Head on over for your chance to win!
