UK Winter Plumbing Tips

While the British climate could certainly be called unpredictable, one thing is for sure, it is very bloody cold! After the sweltering Summer we had this year we have been hit with sub-zero temperatures from the end of November onwards, and that can play havoc with your water pipes, causing ruptures and blockages. If you are new to the home management game, here are some tips on how best to prepare for the annual freeze.

Your boiler is the main component of the heating system and should it break down in the winter you will have a freezing home until it is fixed. In order to minimise the chances of this happening, have the boiler serviced prior to the arrival of the frost and ice. Boilers are designed to be in constant use, yet they do need regular servicing, as there are many components that make up the equipment and a service will reveal any issues.

Preparing for winter will ensure that your Christmas will not be marred by a heating failure and your festivities will be warm and happy.
