It’s definitely Winter now and I’m currently freezing my tits off writing this because I can’t commit myself into walking downstairs to turn the heating up. It’s been a while since I treated myself to some new clothes, I can throw all my money away on clothes and things for the kids but when it comes to me I’m like nope, could be buying nappies or toys with that £20. I just find it really hard to buy myself things that are more than like a fiver if it’s only going to be me benefitting from them. Anyway, this year I’ve tried to treat myself here and there including some new bits for Winter because apparently my arse is bigger than it was last year, haha. I have picked out a few of my staple Winter wardrobe pieces to share with you along with a few faves of mine this year! Enjoy!
I have wanted a pair of leopard print ankle boots for the longest time but I could never find THE ones if you get me. You know what I mean when you know exactly what you want and nothing matches the perfect pair in your imagination…Yeh? That. These beauties are from Fashion World and they are quite possibly the funkiest shoes I’ve ever seen. Is funky still a thing? Am I suddenly ancient and having to question if words I’m using are still ‘in’? Anyway, these are my new favourite things and such a different statement piece to an outfit. I tend to go for “boring” shoes so adding these to my collection (which is extravagant, they’re fucking everywhere and drive Ben up the wall, haha) makes me veery happy.
It ain’t winter without a shit load of huge, wooly jumpers. Fact. There is nothing quite like digging out all last years chunky knits to get those winter vibes going! I am a huge fan of anything knitted, for me or the kids…Minus the weird primary colour knitted dungaree set I had as a baby…90s fashion was weird. I remember buying a shit load of hand knitted cardigans for Lily when I was pregnant and I loved every single one of them. Same with anything knitted adult sized too, anything big and chunky or cosy and ugly! Give me the tassels (like this one from Fashion World again), pom poms, sequins, anything OTT. Oh I do love a fugly jumper.
Skinny jeans have been a staple for all seasons since I was about 15 but even more so in the winter when leggings just don’t cut it for the warmth factor. I have THE most comfy ripped black skinny jeans I have ever worn this year and I am in love. Maybe I just suck at sizing myself and have been wearing jeans too small for my entire adult life or maybe these ones from Fashion World really are the comfiest in the world…Who knows, all i know is these are literally heaven to wear. They hold in the wobbly Mum tum and are just as comfy as leggings. Also, the stretch in these bad boys is very forgiving meaning their perfect for the festive period and allow you to eat a shit tonne more food. Win.
No winter outfit is complete without a statement lipstick. I normally go for a dark, berry lip colour for the Autumn and Winter months but I have been really loving mixing in my Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick which is a dusky pink that suits almost everyone! It’s such a versatile shade and I love it all year round! Another favourite of mine is Revlon’s Black Cherry which is a beautiful deep berry shade which screams Christmas for miles.
So there are my favourite picks for this season!
