2018 Favourites | Beauty

Welcome to awkward intro number one. I have about 5 of these favourites posts coming and I never know how to start them. I thought instead of doing one massive, long ass post that would probably crash WordPress down to the sheer amount of words it would contain I would a series of themed favourites posts to make it easier for me to write but also to make it easier for you guys to navigate! This one is all my beauty related favourites from the year 2018, enjoy!

Cheeky Wipes Makeup Removing Kit

I was recently sent this little kit from the lovely Cheeky Wipes and I am actually in love. I had always used wipes, cotton pads or when I’m using my Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleasner, I’d use a resuable muslin so I wasn’t a complete stranger to using reusable things to remove my make up but thises little things are hoenstly amazing. I was quite dubious about using reusable pads because I thought it would just be one hyge massive balla che having to wash them every 2 minutes but in this kit you get 20 pads in total so you could get away with washing them every couple of weeks if you really couldn’t be bothered. The idea with these is that you use coconut oil to remove everything, yep, even waterproof make up, then wet the pad and wipe it all away. Honestly guys, everything literally melts off. Just plain coconut oil, nothing else! Magic! Well, science not magic but I was bloody impressed. I do love a bit of coconut oil, I used to use it as a moisturiser before my big old jar got lost in the move and I loved it so much, the smell is insane and I just love everything about this.

The Natural Deodorant Co Active Deodorant Balm in Lemon + Geranium

Another super natural product, every since Amy Jane and Baby’s small sustainable swaps challenge throughout November I have been trying to swap things where I can and I’m pretty sure this brand was one she mentioned. While the sample pots are plastic, I believe the bigger posts are glass and therefore a heck of a lot kinder to good old planet Earth. Not only that but these deodorants are totally natural and not full of aluminium and other absolute shite so it’s better for us too. I am absolutely obsessed with the Lemon + Geranium scent, it reminds me of something else I used to love but I can’t remember for the life of me what it was. I can’t get enough of this scent and as someone who sweats a lot (thx anxiety), this stuff really does work. It’s not an antiperspirant so it does allow you to sweat but I was painting entire rooms wearing this and still smelt fresh as a daisy at the end of the day, well, a geranium technically.

IT Cosmetics Illumitnating CC Cream

I reviewed this little number over the Summer and I’ve not gone back since! I love how versatile the coverage is with this one and the illuminating properties are much appreciated because my face needs something to make my skin not look so dead. I’m kind of dreading when I have to replace it because it was quite pricey to say the least and I won’t go into too much detail here because I’ve rambled on about this here before so if you want to know more reasons why I love it here is my review post –

Glossier Boy Brow

The eybrow product to end all eye brow products. Although I am yet to try the most talked about holy grail eyebrow promade from Anastasia, this bad boy is my eye brow staple and has been ever since it graced my make up draw with it’s precence. I have the shade medium for those wondering and I’d say it’s a good match for me. For those of you who don’t know, Boy Brow is essentially a tinted eyebrow gel but it is by far the best one I’ve ever used (and I’ve used a few). It’s not oeverly crispy like some although your eyebrows will feel firmer than they do naturally because well, you have wax on them now. The tiny little spool brush makes application easy and you are left with beautfully enhanced, natural looking brows. Perf.

Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Pillow Talk

This has got to be my most used lipstick of 2018 and rightfully so! Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk is such a gorgeous shade of dusky pink that it goes with anything in any season. I love the finish, which is a beautiful non drying matte, it lasts a decent amount of time and doesn’t do “the thing” that matte lipstick does when you re apply it, the packaging is gorgeous (and metal, so eco-friendlier than other brands) and I just LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have my eye on Bitch Perfect as my next purchase, gotta keep up the tradition of this being an annual birthday treat, am I right?

Lush Snow Fairy Body Spray

Snow Fairy for me is one of the most iconic scents Lush sell, I always buy at least one Snow Fairy scented thing every year because I need it to last me until the following Christmas and luckily, this year I was very kindly sent this body spray from the lovely Lush team to tide me over. I am obsessed with this beautiful, sweet, candy scent and I even spray this around my house because I cannot get enough of it!
