It’s been a little while since I’ve raved about some beauty products and I feel like I’ve been neglecting this part of my blog for a while actually. I love discovering new favourites as well are rediscovering some old ones because let’s face it, I have a heck of a lot of makeup and skincare that had mounted up over the years. I feel like I’ve not been too bad with either using it up or thinning it down but I definitely need to mix things up a bit and write about beauty and skincare more again! Especially considering that this little space was originally a beauty blog after all. Anyway, I thought I’d share some old and new find of mine that I’ve been loving lately!
This is a foundation that I keep seeing pop up on social media, blogs, the internet in general, all with pretty damn good reviews and it’s been on my “to buy” list for a while but for some reason I just kept putting it off. I kind of wanted to buy a more high end foundation as a treat but with various birthday’s, general living costs, blah blah blah in the end I just couldn’t justify spending that much on myself right now so I turned to the drugstore for my skin based needs.
The consistency of this is super watery compared to what I’m used to, the application, however, is super smooth surprisingly! I normally hate applying think foundations because they take so much effort to buff in but this literally glides on, I can’t describe the feeling but it’s a good one. It isn’t sticky at all which I love, I hate having that heavy stickiness on my face when wearing foundation so I’m actually sad I didn’t but this sooner to be honest. The shade actually matches my skintone with is basically unheard of because I’m approximately 5 shades lighter than an actual corpse so when I picked up the lightest shade I was expecting pale orange but I was pleasantly surprised that it pretty much matched my neck. Shocker.
I have wanted one of these lipsticks forever and when I was birthday shopping for my sister (who I also got one for), this accidentally fell into my Beauty Bay basket. Sorry not sorry. I went for the shade Celebrity Skin which is a browny nude shade which I am basically in love with now. It’s a little similar to my beloved Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk but it’s just that little bit less pink but still different enough for me not to be mad that I bought the same shade of something, haha.
The formula is like no other, I have tried liquid lipsticks before although mainly Lime Crime which are good, but the petrol smell I’m kinda not there for but these Jeffree Star ones smell amazing, kinda like cake which is a huge step up from car fumes tbh. The staying power is good and there is no stickiness when they’re dry which is the main thing that concerns me with liquid matte lipsticks but this baby is a. 11/10.
I feel like I have been really boring with my skincare routine lately, and by boring I mean I’ve not really been doing anything. I have my Cheeky Wipes reusable makeup pads and coconut oil but I’ve been neglecting my other skincare items which is kind of counterproductive, isn’t it? Anyway, I have been trying to use up the absolute mountain of skincare products I appear to have accumulated over the years and I have fallen in love with this still all over again. This is something I really loved last Summer and I basically had to keep putting it up because Eloise kept nicking it and I don’t know, I guess I just ended up forgetting about it but honestly, this shit makes me skin insanely soft, I cannot even tell you. The scent is so lovely and light so it’s perfect for this warmer weather when my skin is basically hating life. Love it.
I hope you enjoyed reading about this little trio of products I’ve been loving lately! What are your current faves?
