valentines day

February 14th is fast approaching and it’s pretty hard to miss that fact that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. In amongst the mass of Easter Eggs that were put on shelves a day after Christmas there are the cheesy Valentine’s Day cards and teddy bears with love hearts stitched to their chests. Whether you love getting all mushy or you are a Valentine’s Day scrooge, you can’t miss it.

I’ve compiled a gift guide for those struggling to think of what to get for their other half on this very special, overly commercialised day. I hope this is of some help and most of these can be purchased online and therefore you do not have to wade through the lovey dovey cards and teddy bears. Win. (Talking about cards, if you’re looking for non shit, gag reflex inducing cards then check out Pretty/Insulting).

Jewellery

If you don’t have a clue then jewellery is a good place to start, you can very rarely go wrong with a lovely bit of quality jewellery, or even a watch. Don’t get her a ring though unless you’re proposing, even if you buy and amazing ring, it will be overshadowed by the fact you didn’t pop the question. It’s also a bit dickish, unless however, she has specifically asked for a non engagement ring. Then you’re safe.

For the gamers…

Games can be a good shout if that’s what she’s into. A few games I’d whole heartedly reccommned are:

The Sims 4 – Everyone loves The Sims right?

COD World War II – If first person shooters are more her thing then COD is definitely a good place to start.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – if open world, role-playing games are more her thing then Skyrim is a good shout. I have spent many an hour playing this, amazing, amazing game and 100% recommend!
